About OKW
Part of a global artistic community, yet grounded within the local, OKW has an ambitious yet visionary mandate: to create a platform for Indigenous artistic practices; to create opportunities for professional mentorship; raise the profile of Indigenous arts in the Kawartha region; to build relationships with local and regional organizations, businesses, and First Nations, and finally, to facilitate a network of professional guidance/mentorship, peer enrichment and dialogue.
Through the arts, OKW celebrates the historical and cultural significance of Anishnaabeg territories in the Kawartha region and in Peterborough- known as Nogojiwanong (Place at the End of the Rapids).
